The Madonna of the Rose Garden (1469-1470) belongs to the early production of Botticelli: the Virgin Mary, with a pensive attitude, is holding the Christ Child on her knees beneath a loggia with columns supporting a semicircular arch with a coffered ceiling. Behind Mary extends Behind Mary extends a garden with its pink roses dominating the foreground, symbolizing the Virgin conceived as Rosa mystica … looking at the Roses, it seems possible to grasp their scent, which I tried to capture in this fragrance built with light notes of Rose on a woody and powdery base.
